Tributaries
posted @ 01:24:00 MST by bryn
Did you ever wonder if maybe "ghosts" are the remnants of life energy of people simply living their lives and carving out a path in the fabric around them? Every form of energy leaves a signature. The physical world adjusts to any object passing through it. Rivers of souls in time.

File that one under random bullshit thoughts.

I'm Icarus and You are the Sun
posted @ 00:18:00 MST by bryn
You know what sucks. You know what sucks! You know what sucks?

Finding one.

Finding one five years ago.

Finding one five years ago after getting away from something wicked and devious.

Finding one five years ago who turned your world upside down and shook the foundation.

Finding one five years ago who turned your world upside down just by existing, just by being in it, just by being here and one of us, us.

Finding one five years ago who turned your world upside down and you're not even a blip on her radar. She's one in a million, you're one of a million.

Finding one five years ago who turned your world upside down and you're still going back to the same spot hoping lightning might strike twice against everything you could hope for with unique abandon.

Finding one five years ago who turned your world upside down and you're going to go to sleep tonight hoping the same dream comes to you another time and brings the same sweet, warm, so frighteningly real moment to press against your lips - or so you thought.

Finding one five years ago who you think of looking down at the palm of your hand, the lines, the callouses, the nature of even having hands, opposable thumbs, you wonder, you wonder why, you wonder how, you wonder how and why, you think of the smile, you think of the laugh, you think of the secret moments you know of her.

You hope.

Patrick Volkerding ill
posted @ 14:22:00 MST by bryn
Patrick Volkerding, creator of Slackware Linux (one of the original and best - my favorite) is suffering from a near mystery illness and is looking for help from just about anywhere.

Patrick was one of the people, in my humble opinion, that really made Linux take off and become something. It was people like him doing the early groundwork on Linux distributions that made the whole thing possible. To this day, Patrick and everyone working on Slackware continue to produce one of the most stable, sensible, simple, and solid Linux distributions available.

Best wishes, Patrick. If anyone has experience with what he is going through and has advice or referrals, please contact him. (See the link for information.)

Freedom

There's more than what you're being allowed.

Why? Ask. Don't stop asking.

The only foolish pupil is the student of a single teacher.

They're only your government because they tell you they are.
